2006 Fall Wind-Up
This past season saw many familiar faces, and a few new ones, take to the field. Despite adverse weather conditions as the season progressed, culminating in a relative monsoon on playoff day, teams showed up ready to play hard.
With only four teams competing, the fall season allowed our Victoria teams to expand on their level of play. For some teams it was an opportunity to develop an already strong team. For others it was the learning experience that comes with putting together the strengths of new and existing players.
As many of you know, our play-offs took place during torrential rain. The final game of the day between Xtreme and Bandits was shortened to two, fifteen minute halves. The game ended in a tie leading to convert plays. Teams played three convert plays each, with the winning point scored on the final play.
Thank you to Coach Rory Kine and the entire Duncan team for making the trip to Victoria. Thank you to all the teams and fans that came out. Congratulations to those of you who started playing this season, we hope you will continue to play with the same passion and commitment that so many in our league display. See you all in the spring… and remember… this is football ladies, play hard or go home!
